MAAS Companies assisted the District in reviewing and analyzing the existing organizational structure and operations of the District Office and the current financial resources allocated to perform its functions. This information was compared to similar California community college districts that have a strong centralized administrative structure similar to VCCCD. The review was completed to determine if the VCCCD current staffing levels and organizational structure was sufficient to meet the needs of the Chancellor in achieving assigned objectives, the goals of the Board of Trustees, and the responsibilities and mission of the District.
In addition to internal and external review of data and information related to the issue, an electronic survey was utilized for gaining insight and opinions from different segments of the college community. The current VCCCD titles, job descriptions, and responsibilities were examined and compared to other similar single and multi-college community college districts during the preparation of the report. Suitable alternative staffing structures and responsibilities were recommended in the final report to promote a strong centralized District operation capable of successfully meeting the expectations and the needs of the colleges and its students.
