The Peralta Community College District requested MAAS Companies to review the existing planning/design process for the programming, design and occupancy/uses of four specific bond funded construction projects at three of the Colleges within the District. This “Planning Review” provided the District with confirmation that the programmatic objectives, planned use/occupancy and design of each Project conform to the District’s Planning Standards including the District/College’s Educational & Facility Master Plans, District’s Citizen Oversight Committee and other strategic planning documents within the District. In addition, facilities design, usage and guidelines from the California Community College Chancellor’s Office were reviewed and “best business practices” from similar construction projects at other California Community College Districts were compared and recommendations incorporated into the final report. Finally, each project cost estimates and the overall budget was examined for any inconsistencies.
