Sierra Sands Unified School District

MAAS Companies was retained by Sierra Sands Unified School District to act as an Owner's Representative for projects funded by grants from the federal government through the Department of Defense Program for Construction, Renovation, Repair, or Expansion of Public Schools Located on Military Installations.

The MAAS team provided all management services necessary to coordinate all construction related activities and financial reporting requirements to ensure the projects met all applicable state and federal regulations. The scope of work called for campus-wide renovations of Burroughs High School and the new construction of Murray Middle School on the adjacent site.

The modernization of Burroughs High School included the complete renovation of permanent instructional spaces throughout the campus, along with the addition of a new Administration Building and a new Concessions facility adjacent to the existing stadium. The project involved replacement of all existing HVAC systems, site paving improvements, a new and enlarged student parking lot, and modern audio visual and technology infrastructure.

The new Murray Middle School was designed to house all students and in addition to classrooms, the grounds include a Music and Art Building, Library, Multi-Purpose Room, Administration Building, a gymnasium, playing fields, and a central campus courtyard.
