Project Specialist

Overview
The Project Specialist is the primary administrative point of contact between the Program Management Team and the owner, architects, consultants, and contractors.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Organization, planning, coordination, compilation, and management of bid packages and submittals
  • Tracking requests for information (RFI) and RFI responses
  • Tracking change order requests, change orders, and the preparation of change order documents for the owner
  • Tracking shop drawings, materials, and special tests / inspections
  • Monitors contractor quality control and safety programs
  • Other tasks as directed

Qualifications:

  • High School Graduate
  • Microsoft Office expertise

Expertise in Primavera Suite of construction management software desired.

Senior Project Accountant

Overview
We are seeking a self-motivated accounting professional to manage accounting operations in a small office at a large public-sector job-site. The successful applicant will be responsible for performing and/or overseeing the following company functions:

  • Complex financial reporting - municipal bond compliance
  • Construction & Service Billings
  • Complex Job Tracking - tracking expenditures according to multiple projects and funding sources.
  • Processing of contract documents, change orders, etc.

This individual will have support through the company CFO along with one support person reporting directly to them. The candidate needs to be self-motivated and be able to think on their feet.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years in public sector fund accounting and 3 years in the Construction Industry
  • Must possess very strong Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Banner/DataTel software experience a plus.

We are seeking an Accounting/Administrative Assistant to work at project management office on-site.

This individual will support the job-site project management team and must have experience in basic construction accounting, filing, scheduling meetings and answering phones. Program Manager / Senior Project Manager

Overview
We are seeking a program manager / senior project manager to provide leadership for the successful planning and execution of public sector capital construction projects. This position will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Facilitate master plan development.
  • Assist in defining program scope, budget and schedule for all site and facility improvements.
  • Act in the lead role as interface with State regulatory agencies, the Division of State Architecture and other local agencies.
  • Coordinate design and consulting professionals and manage contractual obligations.
  • Develop cost effective public contract delivery methods for individual capital construction projects.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to our in house project management staff with direct responsibility for the on-going management of small and mid size capital construction projects.

The successful candidate will demonstrate previous experience with the master planning and implementation process. Must have strong leadership skills; experience and professionalism working closely with clients and project team; strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills; outstanding organizational skills, an attention to detail, design sensibilities, and the ability to function well in a constantly changing environment. In addition, the candidate must be professional, flexible and highly reliable.

Required Education:
Minimum: Planning, Architectural, Engineering or Construction Management degree

Required Professional Skills:

  • 5 years experience in a leadership role in relevant professional services discipline

Owner's Representative / Project Manager

Overview
Under the direction of senior project management, this person will act as an owner's representative project manager on bond and state funded capital construction projects for educational institutions. The candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Coordinate the efforts of project specific services including architectural, engineering, consulting and inspection professionals and ensure contractual obligations are met.
  • Act as liaison between the client and all local and state regulatory agencies.
  • Assist in the development of public contract code compliant bid documents and preside over bid phase procedures.
  • Ensure contractors proper completion and timely submittal of contract documents.
  • Preside over construction and post construction phase processes with responsibilities including conducting preconstruction and construction meetings, preparing meeting minutes, maintaining project logs, conducting on site field reviews, preparing field reports, reviewing and approving contractor pay requests and coordinating all project close out submittals and regulatory requirements.

The successful candidate will posses a talent as a facilitator, excellent customer service and communication skills, outstanding organizational skills, an attention to detail, design sensibilities, and the ability to function well in a constantly changing environment. In addition, the candidate must be professional, flexible and highly reliable.

Required Education:
Minimum: Bachelors of Arts in Architecture or Bachelor of Architecture

Required Professional Skills:

  • 5 years experience as an Architectural Manager

Financial Manager/ Senior Project Manager -Bond Program

Overview
We are seeking an energetic enthusiastic team player to help us build our "Legacy of Innovation". As a Senior Project/Financial Manager (Bond Program) you will be responsible for leadership and supporting the MAAS Team with the overall direction, management, and financial outcome of higher education bond program(s) at a college(s), including:

  • Providing leadership for on-site financial teams.
  • Providing liaison for MAAS with other consultants, internal college teams and leadership.
  • Lead and supervise work of program team (administration, financial team, and project managers).
  • Establish operational priorities and maintain satisfactory relationships with owners, contractors and consultants.

Qualifications:

  • The successful candidate should have a MBA and/or Finance related educational background.
  • A minimum of 10 years experience on $5 million - $100 million facilities/construction projects including an extensive higher education background preferably in the CA Community College System.
  • Experience with financial software and systems used in higher education; General Obligation bond management and expertise in financial management in a shared governance environment.
  • Desirable: Experience with Primavera Suite; CM; PM software; Microsoft Excel and Word preferable.
